Game Notes

GAME OVER        The Aztex stellar season is over.  They fall in the Southern Conference Final, 3-1.

Aztex, from all your supporters, GREAT JOB!!!

88th minute        Substitutions for the Aztex…

·       Jamie Scope in for Kieran Bernard.

The Aztex missed a direct kick, but the Heat also missed an open net opportunity in the 87th minute.

84th minute        The Aztex are continuing to push offensively, but the Heat are doing a good job in burning time off of the clock.

80th minute        No change in the scoreline.  COME ON YOU AZTEX!!

67th minute        The Heat score again, this time

                        Greg Malamba.  Aztex are now

                        Down 3-1.

60th minute        Substitutions for the Aztex…

·       Chris Spendlove in for Josh Alcala.

55th minute        Substitutions for the Aztex…

·       Willy “Speed” Guadarrama in for Edgar Alvarez

·       Kevin Klaus in for Matt Gold

This strikes many of us at Mother Egan’s as being good as it’s a fast striking team.

49th minute        Felix Garcia has once again

scored for the Heat.  Aztex are

                        now down 2-1.

47th minute        The Heat have tied it with a

                        goal from Felix Garcia.

                        Aztex 1, Heat 1.

45th minute        We now see the start of the 2nd half.

Halftime             The Aztex are still up 1-0, but we are down to 10 men.  Word from Kay Rawlins is that the officiating is on par with what we’ve seen in the PDL so far.  The lads are playing very well, but need to keep the Heat out of their heads.  Josh Alcala’s knee is acting up, and so he may be subbed in the 2nd half.  In the first half, there’s only been one shot on our goal, that was managed successfully by Miguel Gallardo.  Stay tuned, as the first half will get going shortly.  There are about 100 fans there, and word is that the Central Florida Kraze fans are supporting the Aztex as they want to see retribution for the loss last night.

42nd minute       AJ Godbolt has just been sent off with a second yellow card.   Word is that the Heat are winding Aztex players causing some frustration.

33rd minute        Still 1-0 Aztex.  We have more news about

the PK.  It was a foul on Ezzie Lewis in the

Box that created the opportunity for Jamie.

29th minute        Jamie Watson has scored a PK that puts

the lads up 1-0 over Laredo.  Look for the

                        physicality to dramatically increase from

Laredo (using history as evidence).  Mother

                        Egan’s has erupted.

27th minute        The score is still 0-0, but the match is proving to be very physical (not a surprise).  Laredo is getting carded for diving, so it appears the officials are controlling the match.

10th minute        Jorge Vega was sent off with a red card

off the bench.  Reports say that there

was a scuffle, some pushing and our

guess is that words were exchanged

resulting in the send off.  We are still

with XI on the pitch, and the word is

                        that we’re playing well.

6:02 p.m.           We’re still waiting for the kick off, but we do have the line-up…

·       Miguel Gallardo

·       Zach Pope

·       Kieran Bernard

·       Wes Allen

·       Josh Alcala

·       Matt Gold

·       Carlos Vicens

·       Ezzie Lewis

·       AJ Godbolt

·       Jamie Watson

·       Edgar Alvarez

5:55 p.m.           5 minutes to kick off.  We’re working on getting a starting lineup, and will let everyone know when we hear of the start.  So far, no news on weather delays.

5:14 p.m.           The sorrow of not having the match webcast is still quite painful, however, it’s amazing what one can do with a Guinness or two.

Just a reminder that there is still a group that will be meeting at Mother Egan’s to “watch” the match updates.  We’ll be getting text messages and calls from various folks at the field.  The weather right now in Sanford is clear 83F, partly cloudy with rain in the area .  The good news is that the motion seems to be moving west to east.
