July 29, 2010 :: Chantico's Army will soon launch the pilot episodes of a new podcast that will be dedicated to coverage of the Austin Aztex as well as the USSF Division II league. Matthew Gray, President of Chantico's Army, and Eric Vormelker will be your hosts in what they hope will be a weekly show, that will be called "Into the Mixer". Plans for the initial publication of this podcast are still being worked out, but the hope is that the first episode will air in the next week. The format of the show is a result of numerous conversations with Chantico's Army members, as well as a poll at the Chantico's Army website that showed 12 of 14 respondents wanted a show dedicated to both the Aztex as well as Division II soccer in the US. The show will be broken down into the following sections: - 30 minutes dedicated to coverage of the Austin Aztex. - 20 minutes dedicated to coverage of other teams in USSF Division II as well as league activities. - 10 minutes dedicated to a subject of the week (i.e. the effect of the World Cup on Division II attendances). The show will also have a number of guests on, to keep the views varied and the information flowing. The first show will feature an exclusive interview with Austin Aztex Manager, Adrian Heath. So you'll want to be sure and listen. We will post the podcasts both at iTunes as well as the Media section of the Army website. Stay tuned to the Chantico's Army website for more information, or follow us on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/Chanticos_Army.

Tuesday, July 20, 2010 :: Max Griffin continues to impress Aztex fans and press with his unbelievable play in the last few weeks. Not only has Max been named the "Player of the Month" for June in the USSF Division II by US Soccer, he was named as the News 8 Austin Player of the Week yesterday. Max scored the second of two goals Saturday against AC St. Louis to lift his season scoring total to 6, in a tie for second with Jamie Watson (who scored the first goal Saturday on a PK), two behind team leader Eddie Johnson.
Congratulations to Max from his fans in Chantico's Army for a great performance over the last few weeks. We look forward to seeing him dismantle opponents defenses through the rest of the season...and beyond!

Friday, July 16, 2010 :: Recently, Aztex Gaffer Adrian Heath sat down with Colby White to discuss his thoughts on both his own sides performance to date, as well as what he feels they need to do the remainder of the season. Heath then went through, team by team, and gave his thoughts on their performances. Tremendous thanks to Colby White for this unique piece, available here exclusively at Chantico's Army.
Aztex head coach Adrian Heath made it clear before June began that the busy month would be an indicator of where teams in the league truly stood. Now that the stretch is over and league-leading Austin has hit the midway point, Heath takes a team-by-team look at the league and gives his analysis on where each team stands heading into the second-half of the season.
