Wednesday, March 31, 2010 :: I shouldn't be suprised by the disappointment I had about the result of this match. I was in Plano on Wednesday, only 15 minutes away from Pizza Hut Park. Unfortunately, KO was at noon and there was no way I could move meetings to make it. Then, the only source of info I could find was the FC Dallas PR office (www.twitter.com/FCD_PR). Thankfully, she did mention the Aztex and provided something. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same as being there.What I did hear was hard. FC Dallas, who had the Saturday before drew with Houston 1-1, seems to be on an upward swing in performance. They really took it to the Aztex based on the scoreline. However, from what I've read from folks who did make it to the match (like Crazy Al from BigSoccer) the boys had a real hard time getting their offense going. The lone goal for the Aztex came from yet another trialist, Wolry Wolfe, on an assist from newly signed Defender Lance Watson, in the early minutes of the second half. So this one is in the books. Next for the Aztex will be the USSF Div II League opener at House Park against defending USL1 Champs Montreal. Last time we saw Montreal in Austin, we gave up a 2-0 lead in the final 13' to draw 2-2.
